Arequipa It is the second largest city in Peru after the capital, in addition to having one of the most valuable historical centers in the country (also being a UNESCO World Heritage Site). It is located on the banks of the Chili River and at the foot of the Misti Volcano, the icon of the region.
Although there were multiple and varied options to stay in this city, we have chosen a very particular and picturesque place, My grandmother's house, a charming family business.
The reservation, like all of this trip, we have made through Inkadina Travel & Tours, the receptive local agency that has managed several services in Peru, although we can also do it through the own web.
The price of this accommodation is in the interval $ 40-70 USD per night and room according to the chosen time.
The Location It is not the most central we could have chosen, and that is somewhat different from the preferences we usually choose in travel, but this time we have sought some tranquility after several days of adventure along the Peruvian Coast. Even so, it is just 6 blocks from the Plaza de Armas.
Their rooms They are designed with their own charm, each with the detail and touch of the grandmother. Fully equipped with Cable TV, Mini Bar, telephone with national and international direct access, private bathroom with hot water 24 hours. A hotel taken care of to the smallest detail to make the stay totally pleasant and unforgettable.
The cleaning It is total throughout the complex as well as in the rooms.
In addition, it has the Vault restaurant where you can savor international dishes and exquisite Arequipa cuisine, at very affordable prices.
Also note that the Café Terrace has in the gardens to rest at ease that remains open 24 hours, Internet room, laundry service, safe, games room, massage room, pool and WIFI
But, if it stands out for something, it is because of its location, silent, of beautiful gardens and with a sunrise under the song of the birds worthy of enjoying.
Back on the road, we make a "GUIDED VISIT" of the accommodation With our impressions.
Possibly My Grandmother's House has been the accommodation of all of us who have been throughout the trip that has pleasantly surprised us. Emanates peace and tranquility in abundance.
If we had to put a fault, this is undoubtedly his Location, since the 6 blocks that separate it from the center are about 15 minutes walk that, at night, and after having walked all day, they become heavier although without having at any time in the city of Arequipa feeling insecure.
The rooms They are distributed in "little houses" throughout the entire "farm" in which it is distributed (a very large plot). They are simple but with all kinds of comforts and accessories, being the bath divided into a part of toilet and shower and another part of sink.
The cleaning, despite being carpeted, it is correct.
Service breakfast Included is privileged. Not only for its absolute variety of products (fruits, coffee, lime, teas, juices, eggs, pastries, ...) in buffet, but for its arrangement, at the garden tables.
Undoubtedly, the greatest value of the accommodation are its gardens, with many species of plants and birds of all kinds, including houses for the latter. In them, in the back, a swimming pool is also located.
Also highlight the availability of WIFI throughout the complex, as well as various services (laundry, safe, games room, etc ...)
The we would recommend? Without a doubt YES, despite the fault of its location, which on the other hand is what allows to have these beautiful gardens in the city of Arequipa. It remains, therefore, recommended by CHAVETAS.ES
